Wow I just realised the last time I shared my monthly books update was in March. That’s not good.
I knew I hadn’t done it for a while but I didn’t know it was that many months ago. The reason why I haven’t is because I have lately been reading books I wasn’t to impressed with. Of course that’s not really a reason not to write about it or share my opinion about but I just didn’t feel to write about the books I didn’t like that much.
July was still not my best book month so I wont be sharing a ”July Books’ post but this post will be about a book I read a few months ago. This book was amazing and I couldn’t ignore it not to share it on my blog. So today I’m going into detail about this exciting book and hopefully from next month I will be sharing my monthly reads again.
The book I like to talk about is ”Ragdoll by Daniel Cole”. I have to thank my brother and his partner for this book as they gave it to me for my birthday. I asked for a Dutch book as I always read in English and I fancied to read a book in Dutch again but I didn’t asked for any particular book as I’d liked to be surprised and I love to book they choose for me. It’s definitely something I would have chosen myself. There are many different genres I like to read and a good thriller from time to time is definitely something I like.
One Body. Six Victims.
Detective William Fawkes also known as The Wolf has just come back to work as a detective again. He doesn’t has much time to settle down as there is a terrible case waiting for him together with his colleagues Emily Baxter and Alex Edmunds. There has been found a dead body. It’s not just a body but the body is sewn together with different parts from six victims. The press calls it ‘ragdoll’.
They have to identify the six victims but soon after they found out about ‘ragdoll’ they receive anonymously photos of the crime scene and a list with six names and the dates they will be murdered.
Fawkes and his team have to make sure to keep the people on the list safe and try to find the murderer before it’s too late.
This book is amazing. If you haven’t got it yet make sure you do get it asap as there is no way you cannot read it.
From the moment I started reading it I was sucked into it. There have been moments I was so scared while I was reading it that I sometimes had to look over my book if there wasn’t anyone standing in the bathroom or hall way. I’m always impressed when a book makes you feel a certain way and being scared at some points reading ‘ragdoll’ it makes you getting in to the story even more.
I love a book with good twist in it as well. Daniel Cole did a very good job with the twist. You expect the story to go that way but then out of the blue the twist comes and makes you confused but at the same time it gets even more exciting.
And then the end. I can’t say too much about that as I will spoilt it but it’s an ending that you which you could magic more chapters. I have been reading the last few pages over and over again as I didn’t want to believe it ended like that or that it ended anyway. I wanted more.
Hopefully Daniel Cole will bring ‘The Wolf’ back very soon again.
